BDO is pleased to announce the appointment, effective 1 June 2014, of Nurul Faruk Hasan & Co, Chartered Accountants, including Business Consulting Services, as its new member firm in Bangladesh.

Previously part of the RSM network, the new BDO Bangladesh evolved as major market player in the country within a very short space of time, with a team of 100 partners and staff members under the leadership of Nurul Haque.

BDO Bangladesh delivers accounting, auditing, financial advisory and taxation services. Focusing on audit, accounting and tax, the firm’s full service offering also includes corporate finance, forensic accounting, investment advisory, IT consulting & audit services, together with other advisory services. Their impressive client list includes a majority of multinational companies and international organisations. The firm is particularly strong in the manufacturing, telecommunications and development sectors.

The new BDO firm’s Business Consulting Services operates in the BPO services field, including payroll, employee benefit fund and fixed asset management, as well as accounting & financial reporting, HR outsourcing and other management consulting services. Their entire client list is made up of international companies, including Fortune 500 entities, a good number of which are long-term clients.

There are only two top ranking international accounting networks with member firm representation in Bangladesh, including BDO, and the new BDO firm enjoys a good reputation in terms of their strong client base and excellent service delivery. In joining BDO, the firm will be part of a collaborative international organisation in which BDO’s global expertise, common methodologies and IT platforms will ensure an even more effective and efficient service delivery to clients. The firm will also benefit from BDO’s robust accreditation process and quality assurance review procedure, which maintains the highest possible standards across BDO worldwide.

Nurul Haque, Managing Partner of BDO Bangladesh, said “Our firm’s values are very much in line with BDO’s vision to be the leader for exceptional client service, as our focus has always been to offer consistently high quality service to our valued clients. Our dedication and commitment to providing consistently quality professional services, alongside BDO’s global reach and strength, will I am sure lead us quickly to strengthen our position as one of the top accounting firms in Bangladesh. As part of BDO, we will have access to international expertise that will ensure the optimum blend of professionalism and business knowledge in our service delivery, as well as exceptional quality”.

Stephen Darley, CEO of BDO’s Asia Pacific region, adds “It is a great pleasure to welcome such a fast-growing and professional firm to BDO. We know that our clients aren’t exactly the same the world over. As their organisational structure and activities become more complex, they need advisers with a global infrastructure and processes, coupled with local knowledge and the flexibility to deliver high quality work. Service expectations vary from market to market, but BDO Bangladesh’s in-depth local knowledge, combined with their dedication to exceptional service, will ensure that their domestic and international clients’ needs are met”.

Martin van Roekel, CEO of BDO, concludes “The appointment of this firm is a continuation of our strategy to invest in our presence in the economies that are central to our clients’ growth strategies, whereby we are growing our network both organically and by merging with strong firms that share our values and add to our strengths. We are already leading a mid-tier consolidation from a position of strength in multiple markets and a firm such as this, that has a prime position in its market already, can only further our aims”.
